Mealey Architectural Facades Limited (MAF) is delighted to announce that with effect from Tuesday 5th May 2020, we are changing our company name to Alutec Facades Ltd to reflect the introduction of our new partners Alutec International L.L.C.

Alutec International LLC is part of Alutec Group, a facade and building envelope specialist, headquartered out of Doha, Qatar. They are among the leading building envelope specialists in the Middle East North Africa region and one of the few building envelope companies globally with vertically and horizontally integrated design, processing, manufacturing, and contracting. Alutec has in-house glass processing comprising of automated plants for tempering, double and triple glazing, lamination, etc., metal processing including water jet cutting, powder, and PVDF coating plants along with a new state of the art anodizing plant. It also has steel factories to cater to primary and secondary steel requirements and is a shareholder in the largest aluminium extrusion plant in Qatar.

Alutec has amongst its current portfolio, three stadia for the FIFA world cup to be held in Qatar in 2022, including the Main Stadium, called Lusail Stadium, designed by Foster & Partners for the opening and closing ceremonies and matches. They are also executing another Fosters project comprising of four towers in Lusail City in Qatar with a 280,000 sqm bespoke unitized façade with 180,000sq of cold-bent glazed façade.

Alutec Facades Ltd will augment 37 years of proven local history with our new combined exceptional abilities in façade engineering. We shall be able to offer the Irish & UK markets an integrated single-source supply chain, spanning production facilities of 80,000sqm across six factories in Qatar, one in Ireland and one in India. With support from a workforce of over 1,200 fulltime employees and offices in Ireland, Belgium, India, and Qatar, MAF will be looking to scale its operations over the next few years substantially.

As the first project post-acquisition, Alutec Facades has signed a contract to design and build the façade for the International Rugby Experience Museum in Limerick City, Ireland designed by Niall McLaughlin Architects.

Joe O’Connor and Alan Murphy will continue in their roles as Managing Director and Technical Director. Suraj Thampi, CEO, Alutec Group, and Ali Hamad K Al-Thani, Chairman, Alutec Group, will join the new board as directors.

MAF will rebrand as Alutec Facades with a new logo, website, and a refreshed company vision with an absolute focus on superior customer service and satisfaction. We look forward to working with you, demonstrating improved performance, and the strength of our new partnership.
